Talking about Teaching session will be on Friday, December 11 from 11-12:30pm via Zoom.  For this session, we’ll be discussing Creating Peer to Peer Online Writing Communities:  Integrating ELI Review into the Classroom.

Description:  Online grading got you down? Do your effective peer review days feel too few and far between? Do you want to more effectively cultivate a student commitment to and facilitate skills in the critical writing practices of assessment and revision? Come learn about the dedicated online writing platform Eli Review. Eli Review is an affordable platform that utilizes peer-to-peer learning to create an online writing community while encouraging effective assignment design for writing instruction. Eli Review is a useful tool for online, hybrid, and in-person writing-intensive courses.

A pilot group of faculty, including Nicholas de Leeuw and Rachel Friedman, who participated in a summer Pedagogy in Action workshop led by Erin Sweany and Susan Zlotnick, utilized the platform in the fall with support from CIS/ACS.  They will share their experiences and discuss the possibilities of working with this platform.  Melissa Meeks from ELI Review will also be there until 12 pm to answer questions.

If you would like to come, please RSVP to Amy Jo Arndt (aarndt@vassar.edu).

Warmly,

 Maria Hantzopoulos
