MUSI-101 is an introductory course in music theory and aural skills, designed for students with little to no prior musical training. The course develops foundational literacy in Western music theory, including notation of pitch and rhythm, the keyboard, scale construction, and basic chord formation, while also building aural skills. You will complete regular homework assignments to help track your progress, with prompt feedback provided on each. Because these skills build cumulatively, it's important to review course concepts between class sessions rather than waiting until an assignment is due.
