This course introduces students to the history, politics, and culture of ancient Mediterranean and western Asia from the prehistory to late antiquity (c. 10,000 BCE to the seventh century CE).
In this course—the sequel to GRST 125—we will continue learning the fundamentals of ancient Greek grammar and syntax and practicing our reading skills.
This course provides an opportunity for students to transition from reading textbook-style Latin to reading and interpreting authentic Latin texts. Together, we will read a third-century CE North African martyr narrative titled The Passion of Perpetua and Felicity.
